AREAS MARYAM SHARRON STUDIED: History
Maryam Sharron was a historian and a scholar. She received her M.A. in History from Howard University and her writing is featured in many publications.
These include the Oxford Encyclopedia of African American History, Africology: Journal of Pan African Studies, The African Diaspora Network Journal, Trans Africa Forum, The Liberator magazine, The Encyclopedia of the African Diaspora, The Encyclopedia of Blacks in European History and The Black Commentator web magazine.
Maryam Sharron focused her study and work on Africa and the African diaspora, particularly, the African presence in Asia from the Dynastic era to the twentieth century, the African Diaspora to Central Asia and the Caucasus, the African Diaspora in the Americas, Ancient Egypt, Central African kingdoms, Africa and Islam, Africa’s impact upon the Biblical era as well as African cultural survivals within Muslim, Buddhist and Hindu cultures and African Women as maintainers of culture.
