About Subir
"Subir Rana has a PhD in Sociology from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and is a Postdoc from the National Institute of Advanced Studies, Bengaluru. He is the recipient of many prestigious national and international awards, fellowships and travel grants from educational and research institutions and has published his research in peer-reviewed journals and as chapters in edited books. He has recently been elected as the Vice Ambassador of India (2021-23) for the Applied Anthropology Network (AAN) of the European Association for Social Anthropology (EASA). Apart from his research interests, he also dabbles in extracurricular activities like travelling, doodling, painting and writing about things and events around him besides his penchant for numismatics and philately. His poems and a short story have been published and he has displayed his paintings at University Festivals and showcased his stamp collection at the Single-Page Philately Exhibit organised by the Karnataka Philatelic Society, Bangalore of which he is a Life Time Member.
